While open to beneficial modifications, the National Advisory Council system continues as a viable forum resulting in benefits to the claims adjusting fraternity. In 1961, after some forty claims/loss association executives responded favorably to any inquiry from NAIIA, the Association devised a system for regular meetings of members and company claim executives for free and open exchange of information. The resulting network, now known as the NAC, was created.

Five regional councils were established originally in New York City, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, and San Francisco. Today these councils still exist to correspond with the NAIIA's five geographical regions: Eastern, Southeastern, Mid-States, Southwestern and Western States. At least one meeting of these advisory councils is normally held in conjunction with each regional meeting. Both client and member firms representatives are appointed by Regional Vice Presidents.
